John’s Plumbing was founded in 1983 by John Lowry Sr., a hardworking man with a passion for helping others and a commitment to providing honest, reliable plumbing services. What began as a small, one-man operation soon grew, as John’s reputation for quality work and integrity spread throughout the community.
As the business thrived, John’s wife, Linda, joined him after retiring from Abbott Lab in Laurinburg. She took on the vital role of managing the books, ensuring the business remained strong and stable. Together, John and Linda poured their hearts into building a company that not only provided essential plumbing services but also served as a trusted resource for families in their community.
A Well-Earned Retirement:
After more than 40 years of dedication, John and Linda officially retired in 2024, passing the business to their son, Tim, and daughter-in-law, Sarah. Though they have stepped away from the business, their impact on the community and the foundation they built will continue to thrive for years to come.
Tim grew up watching his dad, Mr. John, build a business rooted in hard work, honesty, and dedication to the community. In 1995, right out of high school, Tim officially joined his dad at John’s Plumbing, learning the trade firsthand and carrying on the family’s commitment to quality service. After earning his plumbing license in 2002, he continued to work alongside his dad, always valuing the trust their customers placed in them.
In 2003, Tim married his wife, Sarah, and together they built not only a family but also a shared passion for serving others. In 2018, Sarah joined the business, managing scheduling and bookkeeping, ensuring everything behind the scenes ran smoothly.
In 2024, Tim and Sarah proudly acquired John’s Plumbing, allowing Mr. John and Mrs. Linda to enjoy a well-earned retirement. While they have made a few changes to help the business grow, one thing remains the same—their unwavering commitment to the values John built the company on. They will continue to provide honest, reliable plumbing services to the community, just as John always did. With a heart for service and a vision for the future, Tim and Sarah are dedicated to maintaining and strengthening John’s Plumbing, ensuring it remains a trusted name for generations to come.
